Good carvery, nice meat and well cooked vegetables, good beer selection. Price is up there somewhat above the mean for a carvery of its type. Interesting old building full of atmosphere. Easy parking. Slightly tricky access road.

Carvery, it was OK, freshly cooked, which was good. Difficult to say if it was any better than a Green King chain so the price felt a little steep. Overall we were happy. Very friendly staff.

We held my grandads funeral reception here and it was really lovely. The owner made the process really easy, the buffet menu provided a good selection at a reasonable price, and the venue had a nice atmosphere. Bar staff were really friendly, the buffet food was all homemade and was absolutely delicious. People are still talking about the sausage rolls! We had one celiac guest and he was so well catered for with an excellent selection. Thanks so much.
Dietary restrictions: Celiac was well catered for.

Lovely place to visit. We was there for a wedding and I must say the venue was nicely set out , the food was great and service was top notch. My only reservation is to get to the second level requires the navigation of a few stairs which is not great if you have babies in push chairs like we did or if you was in a wheelchair. We lifted our sleeping children up the stairs but they are quite steep so not the best for health and safety and I am sure it is an accident waiting to happen. Hope they look for a way to address this. Other than that we had a lovely time and intend to visit on a normal day to try the Sunday lunch.

Somewhere a little different tucked away from the beaten track. Carvery and meals available set in a historic building with a huge fishing lake in its grounds. Great for a short walk or to sit outside with a drink and take a moment for nature. Well worth a visit.

I've been coming here for years and it's still my favourite place to visit. Fantastic staff, food and drinks. I've never had a complaint about anything. A must visit if you want a great atmosphere, food and drink.

Visited for roast Sunday lunch, the food is wonderful but get there early if you want to avoid a queue! Eating in the bar area will have many people standing at the bar waiting for drinks, or staff going to and from the cellar. The bars are the most atmospheric rooms to eat, but they just get crowded. Luckily you can order drinks at the table from staff but you may wait a while with an empty glass especially at busy times. Sunny days means many people coming in for drinks due to more than a dozen or so picnic tables outside.

Great experience during our visit. Friendly chef and staff. Food was delicious and the place great. Went twice within a space of a month. Would come again in the near future.

We really enjoyed our tasty carvery meal thanks. Lovely atmosphere in this well kept country pub with plenty of parking.
Parking: Parking close to the pub.
